101130 ‘Completing World Tour’ JYJ is Going for a “Nice Half Month Rest”

After completing the two days concert at Seoul Jamsil Stadium on last 27th and 28th, JYJ (Micky Yoochun, Youngwoong Jaejoong, Xiah Junsu) will take a half month (15 days) rest period.

Ever since JYJ debuted on October 12th with the first album ‘The Beginning’, the group had been busy conducting worldwide showcase in total 6 cities in Asia starting from Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, and Shanghai. In the month of November, JYJ kicked off showcase stages in America regions namely New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. Putting both period of showcases altogether, the overall showcase lasted for around 2 months, and the group’s activities had finally been wrapped up with the two days concert on November 27th and 28th at Jamsil Stadium.

JYJ official said, “The members had worked continuously after their respective solo activities to the world tour showcase. During this half of month, there is no official activities planned and the members will take plenty of rest.”

As for the future official schedule, none of them seem to specifically published. The official, “Projects including some solo activities are still under discussions, but any of the details are not yet to be revealed.” he added.

I hope the three of them will have a very relaxing and fun vacation. They definitely deserve it! :))

It;s amazing that it suddenly started to snow during JYJ’s concert while they were performing on stage. I think it was a sign from the heavens that these precious boys are truly blessed. :)

101201 JYJ Welcomed the ‘First Snow’ Together with 35,000 Fans

JYJ welcomed the ‘First Snow’ together with 35,000 fans, perhaps the heaven wants to join in for the concert as well.

JYJ (JaeJoong, YooChun, JunSu) tears because of snow, smile because of snow.

At the nights of 27th and 28th November, JYJ held their first ever concert at Seoul Jamsil Sport Stadium. On the 27th of the concert, due to the strong snow rain and hail that ripped off the huge ceiling, they had no choice but to remove the ‘dome’. And because of that, the concert which was schedule to start at 7pm had to delay for an hour.

To set up such ceiling at this type of huge sports stadium was a first in Seoul, therefore it had attract many attention. However with the removal of it, not only audiences but JYJ themselves had to bare in the cold.

But a movie like scene happened at the second day of the concert just like a miracle. When the concert had reach its climax, suddenly the sky was filled with snow, the members were smiling in the snow and wipe away all the sorrow.

Before his solo stage began, YooChun said, “Is this the first snow? Having to welcome the first snow with the love ones, I will take this as the first snow”, which had led to an explosive respond from the fans.

JaeJoong also expressed, I read a tweet from a fan yesterday, she said, ‘perhaps the heaven wants to watch oppa’s performances too’, I had received so much comfort after reading it”, and was very thankful to his fans.

At the end of the concert, JYJ stated, “Seeing the snow during the concert, felt like we had created a lovely memories together with our fans. Due to the cold weather, our concert couldn’t go as planned, though we have some regrets, but after seeing 70,000 fans who were shouting and supporting us in the cold, we are really touched and thankful.”

Although this is the coldest autumn ever, but it cannot stop the enthusiasm of fans for JYJ. The lovely snow that falls during the concert had added a romantic effect to the stage, which is a ‘special stage effects’ that human can’t achieved.

After the concert, satisfied fans expressed, “We can’t felt the cold, and this is a stage of the artists and the fans.” They said, “Listen to JYJ songs had melted away all the coldness; hope to see them more often at other stages.”

This is a crisis situation like a roly-poly that stayed un-waved and strong, JYJ had overcomed all unexpected obstacles with their passion and enthusiasm to present a sparkling nights. At the end of the concert, the snow which had a short paused begins to fly again.

101130 JYJ Jaejoong’s Self Composed Song Nine, Signifies The 9 Years With TVXQ

After JYJ’s Jaejoong revealed the meaning behind his self composed song ‘nine’, it became a topic of discussion.

On last Nov. 27th and 28th, the two days concert were finally over. During the concerts the members first performed their self-composed songs such as ‘nine’ and ‘Fallen Leaves’. The self-composed songs caught many fans’ attention.

Jaejoong answered some of the fans’ questions about his self-composed song through twitter. Jaejoong confirmed, “The songs composed by the members in this concert were all completely composed, arranged and had their lyrics written by the members.” Thus starting the discussion about their self-composed songs. The hottest discussion was about Jaejoong’s self-composed song ‘nine’. A line in ‘nine’ lyrics, “Even though it’s hard to start over, but with everyone creating memories, I can’t hide it anymore”. Everyone became even more curious about the song when listening to its sad lyrics. To everyone that is curious about the lyrics of ‘nine’, Hero Jaejoong explained it this way: “From the day Yoochun had joined us, it has been 9 years”.

Jaejoong spent a lot of time writing the lyrics to ‘nine’. “The reason why it took so long for me to write the lyrics for ‘nine’ was because.. I was wondering if it would be better to use poetic expression… or other ways of expressions… And because this song would be presented to you for the first time at the concert, I wanted to express a feeling of ‘talking directly in front of your eyes’ thus it turned out like this.” He also said, “I used the basic chords that I learned when Yoochun first began teaching me how to play the piano, and I created the melody so that it would remind people of music from 10 years ago.. Yoochun who didn’t even know about it, said ‘Hyung.. Why does it have a kind of old feeling to it? Haha..’ ” revealing the little story behind the making of ‘nine’.

Fans had avid responses such as “It’s already been 9 years since they have been together” “So it actually signifies the 5 members of TVXQ” “Just listening to it makes my heart ache”. Other than ‘nine’, Jaejoong also talked about other songs such as ‘Pierrot’ and ’My Scenario’.

JYJ holds concert in Seoul over weekend

“Getting struck by wind is said to happen only to those who are flying. I believe that the many winds that we are being struck with are blessings in disguise, meaning that we will fly high up.” That is what JYJ member Junsu during their two-day concert titled “JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul” held on November 27 and 28 at the Main Olympic Stadium in Jamsil. And the ‘wind’ he spoke of did not refer to the hail and strong wind that took down the large tent that was installed over the roof of the stadium ahead of the first day of the concert. Former TVXQ members Jaejung, Yuchun and Junsu left the band after filing a lawsuit against SM Entertainment last summer asking their exclusive contract with the agency to be nullified after which SM filed for injunction on the three’s release of their worldwide album “The Beginning” in October although they later withdrew it. While the lawsuit regarding the contract with SM is ongoing, TVXQ’s two remaining members U-know Yunho and Max Changmin are set to resume their singing careers next year under the name of TVXQ.

Despite all the ups and downs they have been through, JYJ delayed the starting time of 7 p.m. for their concert on November 27 by an hour since they had to take down the tent and the 35,000 local and international fans had to endure the below-zero temperature. However, the stage was enough to show off the elaborate dance moves and singing skills of the JYJ members whose performances were of tracks from their album “The Beginning” which features works from world-renowned musicians such as Kanye West who composed “Ayyy girl,” Rodney Jenkins who produced “Empty,” as well as unreleased songs “9,” “Fallen Leaves” and “Mission Make It.” Each member gave solo performances as well, with Yuchun taking the stage to give his rendition of “Drunken Truth” by duo Exhibition, Junsu performing with a string orchestra for “I Can Soar” and Jaejung singing “To You Its Goodbye” from the soundtrack to KBS’ drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal.” The dance performance, which was directed by Jeri Slaughter who has worked with top global artists Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera, left a deep impression with its extravagant lights and dynamics moves which was reminiscent of Cirque du Soleil’s shows. They also successfully delivered a relatively clear and rich sound even though they were limited in terms of location with the concert being held in a stadium — faults were pointed out regarding the sound during their showcase held at Korea University’s Hwaseong Tiger Dome last month. However, it could not be helped that there was a limit to them conveying the emotions felt in the songs from their album “The Beginning” which is in English and it was inevitable that their new songs, unveiled for the first time at the concert, created an awkward atmosphere.

But of course these inconveniences came about also because JYJ is a team that is just ‘beginning.’ The lyrics to their new song “Pierrot” which say, “I have my own thoughts and my own life. I don’t want to remember those times which seemed like prison. Forever bye bye bye,” seemed to be directed towards their previous agency as well as saying goodbye to their past as TVXQ. It may also refer to how they cannot and will not sing the songs that they sang as TVXQ and how they are singers will their first full-length album even though they made a debut seven years ago. Hence, after going through trial and error, they showed quick improvement on their show on November 28 compared to the previous day, drawing reaction from the audience on the second and third floor from warmer weather, better arrangement of the floor seats and usage of a subsidiary stage. In that sense, the most important thing that the members of JYJ may need is time to build up a repertoire that is right for them.

101130 JYJ Attracts 70,000 Fans To Two-Day Concert

Despite the freezing cold, about 70,000 fans flocked to the Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul on Nov. 27 and 28 to watch the first concert of trio JYJ, composed of Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun and Youngwoong Jaejoong.

The JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul was a follow-up to the trio’s successful JYJ worldwide album showcase that took them to New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas in North America; and to Asian cities Taipei, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.

Under the direction of choreographer and artistic director Jeri Slaughter, the Seoul concert saw JYJ performing songs from their first English album, “The Beginning,” including “Ayyy Girl” and “Be My Girl.”

The trio also offered their condolences to the victims of North Korea’s artillery attack on Yeonpyeong island in South Korea where four people were killed.

The stadium was originally planned to be covered to protect the fans from the cold weather. However, hail fell on the morning of the concert, prompting the concert organizer to remove the roof structure to prevent any accident.

During the concert, JYJ announced that they will be having a worldwide concert tour that may take the trio again to different cities.

The trio was overwhelmed by the fans’ support and thanked them for coming to the concert.

“Thanks to all the fans who attended today’s concert. Thank you so much, I was so moved when you all shouted out that you love us,” according to Jaejoong’s tweet, which was translated by fan site

Jaejoong added, “All the challenges and situations we’re experiencing right now are so unfamiliar and tiring, and they wear me out. But there is one thing that isn’t unfamiliar. The people in front of my eyes who still love us.”

101128 JYJ’s First Concert Signals Rough, Chilly Start

Yu-chun from three-piece band JYJ smiles during the group’s first concert “JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul” at the Olympic Main Stadium, Sports Complex, Saturday evening. Despite the chilly weather, some 30,000 fans cheered on for the band, but JYJ failed to fully satisfy high expectations due to poor preparations.

By Han Sang-hee

Members of boy band JYJ may have made headlines with their departure from one of Korea’s most popular bands, TVXQ, and with their efforts in broadening their fan base, but it seems they will need to work on the basics: professionalism and consideration to the audience.

The three-member group — consisting of Yu-chun, Jae-joong and Jun-su— held its first concert “JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul” in freezing weather at the Olympic Main Stadium, Sports Complex, Saturday night.

It snowed and rained a bit in the morning, and although the weather seemed to get better during the day, it got chilly and very windy again as evening descended.

By the time the concert was scheduled to start, which was 7 p.m., the bare and open stadium was literally ice cold.

To make matters worse, the concert was delayed for an hour, which made even the most devoted fans a bit frustrated.

Around 7:20, the three members suddenly appeared on the stage, thanking the fans for coming and also expressing their condolences to the victims of Yeonpyeong Island, where a North Korean artillery attack took place on Nov. 23.

“We are sorry for the delay,” was all the members said regarding the delay and they left the stage, leaving the fans waiting in the cold for another 40 minutes, some shouting “come out!” and “why aren’t you coming out!”

When the show finally started, which was around 8:10 p.m., it seemed the fans forgot all about the icy temperatures and the delay, as they shouted the members’ names and waved bright red glow sticks in the air in perfect harmony.

The members performed songs from their first album “The Beginning.” The first track “Empty” was impressive, along with the other numbers, as the group managed to put on a great show despite the cold.

Their hands and noses were bright red from the wind, but this didn’t stop them from dancing and running around the stage, waving and shouting out to the screaming crowd. Each member had an individual stage as well, with Jae-joong’s sexy track “Still In Love,” Yu-chun’s ballad medley and Jun-su’s reinterpretation of “I Can Soar” with an orchestra playing in the backdrop.

The group also presented some new tracks as well, such as “Nine,” “Fallen Leaves” and “Mission Make it.”

When the intro for “Be My Girl Remix” came out of the speakers, the crowd shouted even more loudly and followed the groups’ dance moves perfectly. Yu-chun recently posted the video for the number’s choreography on his twitter, and the fans managed to learn the moves and display a memorable flash-mob experience for the three members.

After singing some 18 songs, the members left the stage with the fans continuously shouting out their names. But JYJ, despite the fans who had waited for some freezing 10 minutes after their departure, didn’t return to give an encore.

Overall, the show was fun and entertaining. JYJ’s agency explained that the concert was produced by creative director Jeri Slaughter, who worked with Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera, but there was nothing extraordinary.

Laser shows, fireworks and unique installations have been around in the pop idol concert scene for quite some time; there’s even been pianos held up in the air and members flying over their fans on wires.

The two big screens on each side of the main stage was impressive, but it was not enough for the fans who sat in the back as it mostly offered full shots instead of close ups. Due to the frigid weather, the three singers also had a challenging time singing their songs, which mostly included their signature powerful dance choreography.

The concert’s stage effects would have been a bit better if they went on with their original plan in covering the open ceiling with a specially-made dome, but due to the grueling weather, this plan was scrapped.

Scrapping the dome was not only a regrettable incident for JYJ, but also for the fans as well. The tickets for the concert ranged from 110,000 won to 198,000 won, and concert organizers explained that the cost was a bit high due to the special effects, including the dome. Tickets for a concert held by SM Entertainment at the same venue cost 11,000 won to 88,000 won, a lot less expensive than JYJ’s.

In the end, fans had to pay full price for something they didn’t get to see, had to wait over an hour in the freezing cold without getting a clear explanation, plus were unable to enjoy an encore with the band.

It would have been hard for any experienced band or artist to perform in such adverse conditions, but it would have been more professional to prepare for the unexpected, especially if it was being held in late November, at an open and exposed stadium and charging a lot of money for seats.

I didn’t like the tone of this news at all. Some members of the Korean media are really harsh. They don’t know how to appreciate the efforts of other people. Seriously, was it JYJ’s fault if it was too cold? The fans knew, especially the Korean fans, that it’s cold during this time of the year and yet they still chose to buy a ticket and watch the concert. It’s not like JYJ forced them to watch. It isn’t the boys’ fault if the fans had to deal with the cold weather. It was the choice of the fans – they chose to withstand the freezing cold to see JYJ perform. So what’s the problem with that?

As for the “the tickets are so expensive but the fans didn’t get what they paid for” comment,  it isn’t JYJ’s fault there was a sudden hailstorm. It wasn’t like they intentionally did not put up the stage setup that they promised the fans. They did what they promised. It was all set but then a NATURAL DISASTER that they don’t have any control on happened so they weren’t able to give the fans a magnificent stage setup. It wasn’t their freakin’ fault and I’m sure all the fans know that so why is the writer of the article fussing about it so much?

Also, I totally disagree with the writer’s comment that JYJ did not give a proper explanation as to why they had to delay the concert for an hour. The boys even apologized to the fans for the delay. I’m sure the fans at the venue also understands the reason that the concert was delayed because of what happened to the setup. Seriously, it’s impossible to start the show on time because they had to fix a lot and make adjustments just to be able to run the show smoothly after the hailstorm.

Lastly, contrary to what the writer of this article said, I believe that the fact that JYJ decided to continue with the show, think of the well-being of the fans and make major changes to the flow of the concert just to give the fans the best show possible is already a sign of PROFESSIONALISM.
