110211 Park Yoochun’s Anti-SM Lyrics Controversy “All I Wanted To Do Was Be Honest”

JYJ’s Park Yoochun spoke up about his composition that has been swept up in a controversy due to its lyrics.

Park Yoochun appeared on MBN with the other JYJ members and talked truthfully about the controversy surrounding his composition ‘A Song Without a Name Part.1’.

When told, “Your composition has become a hot issue,” Park Yoochun gave a bashful smile and said, “I was really surprised.” He continued to say, “There’s a lot of talk going around about the song, but all I wanted to do was be honest about what has happened to us till now.”

The song ‘A Song Without a Name Part.1′ is included in the music essay “THEIR ROOMS, our story’ that was released by JYJ in January. The piece contains the story of TVXQ from their debut in 2004; it includes their entry into the Japanese market and all the happenings that lead up to the beginning of the trio’s legal dispute with SM Entertainment.

The lyrics were swept up in controversy when netizens concluded that they sounded like they were attacking the trio’s former label SM Entertainment. Examples included, “Hearing that we had finally struck gold overseas and brought in results so unimaginably astronomical, I walked into the office with a spring in my step to receive my pay. But the statement of accounts we received said we were at a deficit. Everything was listed under expenses,” and “This is exactly like what our seniors said.”

JYJ’s “Music Essay” becomes weekly bestseller on Hanteo!

JYJ’s “Music Essay” has become Hanteo’s weekly bestseller!

Usually categorized in the book section, JYJ’s “Music Essay” has been picked as the weekly bestseller album on Hanteo, beating out other artists such as Park Jung Min, Seungri, and TVXQ.

Reaching #1 as bestsellers on various  sites such as Hanteo and Kyobo, a lack of broadcasting time on TV and participation in a lawsuit has seemingly no effect on the success of the boys. Their triumphs have been accredited to the tremendous love and support they have been receiving from fans.

Congratulations to JYJ!

Another translation of one of the essays in JYJ Music Essay written by JaeJoong

Alcohol—Kim Jaejoong (JYJ Music Essay)

Intoxicated, like dragging a heavy bag
Standing in front of the entrance, pressing in the key code
But somehow, I cannot recall the key code that I have memorized by heart
Why did I drink so much to the point of being drunk?

Don’t know if you guys have ever done this before?
Don’t want to watch TV, don’t want to play the piano, don’t want to read any books
And don’t want to look at the people walking back and forth in that world beyond my window
I want to hide

In the end, I can only lie on the sofa motionlessly
Have no urge to move, only stare blankly at the cactus
As I was staring at the cactus I suddenly realized I was talking to myself, “Am I feeling a little bit lonely?”
The fate of a cactus is that if the heart of his core have been fiddled with, his life would be shortened
The cactus seems to say to me, “you are lonely, just like me”

Lonely, frustrated, depressed
There’s nowhere I can go to let out my feelings
At that time, the only friend I could find, was alcohol

But this thing
I would definitely despise it tomorrow
However, I think I would nonetheless continue to pursue it
