Listening to the them, I think they’re pretty good. The songs in this album, in my opinion, are leaning more on the J-Pop side now unlike their previews Japanese songs where there’s still a K-Pop feel when you listen to them. I like The Secret Game, TAXI, Stand Up! and We Are the most out of all the songs I’ve listened to so far. LOL. I can’t believe I’m actually addicted to “FUNKINATION” now. Hahaha!

SM Entertainment’s queen, BoA, had her press conference today entitled “Best of Asia, Bring on America” regarding her upcoming American debut. Plans of her US debut were revealed to the media and fans. In the said press conference, previews for BoA’s debut single were also released. Her debut track is entitled “Eat You Up” which was produced by Bloodshy & Avant (whoever they are) who also composed songs for Britney Spears and Madonna. There will be two versions of the MV of the said track and previews of both were shown at the press conference. Here are the two previews:

Version One: American

Version Two: Korean

Well I think the song was ok although I found the title a bit weird. I mean do you seriously use that kind of title when debuting on a new country and a new market? Maybe it’s just me but I just really find it a bit… how will I term it? Uhm, awkward? But in fairness to BoA, her English was good enough based on the MV. One of the major worries of people about his American debut is her English proficiency and well, I would say that her’s was ok as compared to that of someone *cough* RAIN *cough* who has been in America for a long time already but is still VERY BAD in speaking coherent English sentences. But well, it’s a song and she’s not the one who wrote it so her English conversational skill is yet to be tested and we’ll never know how good or bad she is until we actually hear/see her answer an English interview. For now, all we have to do is wait. And I’d have to say that the song is catchy and I like the dance steps. Between the two MVs, I think I like the Korean version more since it has a lot of effects and not to mention a lot of angst to it.

Anyway, “Eat You Up” will be released online as a digital single on October 14, 2008.

Yay, I’m finally back from almost a week’s vacation! Hahaha. I was not able to blog and provide updates the past week because I went out of the country with my friends as our graduation trip. We just got home at around 11pm of September 6 and I spent the whole day yesterday uploading pictures and videos of our trip and also getting the sleep that I lacked the past 4 days we were in Hong Kong. If you’re asking how was the trip, well it was fun but very tiring. All those walking at Disneyland and Ocean Park plus the never-ending shopping really tired out my body and killed my feet. Hahaha.

Anyway, a lot some things happened during the four days that I was out. I was too lazy to check on DNBN and Baidu so I just went to DBSK’s thread at Soompi to read what’s the latest news about the boys. Apparently the thread was moving so fast that I had to backtrack around 20+ pages just to be in the flow of things. I’m sure some of you already read/heard of these news but for the benefit of those who were “out of civilization” like me for a couple of days, I’m gonna post up the important ones even if these are a bit late.

1.) SMTOWN LIVE ’08 IN BANGKOK 2ND PRESS CONFERENCE WAS POSTPONED. It was supposed to be held yesterday alongside the start of the ticket selling with DBSK and some members of Super Junior attending the said event but because of the situation in Thailand right now, SM and ADAMAS opted to postpone it for the artists’ safety. I think it was a good step to take although it’s really a disappointment for Thai fans who were excited to see them but that move was to ensure the safety of the boys so I think it’s ok. It’s not like Thailand is in total chaos right now but it’s still advisable to be careful, right? We wouldn’t want to see the boys get hurt in any way, yeah? So to all Thai fans out there, don’t feel too bad. At least it was just POSTPONED and not totally CANCELLED. You’ll just have to wait for further announcement on when the 2nd Press Conference will push through. And look at the birght siide; at least the concert was not cancelled. =) And although the 2nd Press Conference yesterday was postponed, the ticket selling at Thaiticketmajor still pushed through. I checked the site again just a while ago and I think tickets are still available so for those who has no tickets yet, go buy now before it gets sold out. :

2.) A PICTURE OF DBSK FOR  THE 4TH KOREAN ALBUM WAS RELEASED BY SM AS A TEASER FOR FANS. Ok, let me spazz about the picture released by SM. Gawd, LSM really knows how to excite fans. Of all the pictures he had to release, it was THAT picture that he chose to show us. Is he trying to kill us? Gah, JaeJoong was ultra HOT. *fangirl mode* I knew it long before that the boys will have a somewhat smexy concept for their 4th Korean album. I mean, the hints were there. All those skin-showing tactics they were doing during concerts were some indications of their “new ground-breaking concept” for their next album. I don’t really know if I like the new concept or not but I coudn’t care less. The boys had to change their image and concept for every album and it just so happens that this smexy concept was the one assigned for their upcoming album so I really don’t mind. It’s not like they’ll go walking on the streets topless, right? As long as they remain the same, I’m fine with it. And besides, isn’t this a treat for all of us?  Come on, be honest fangirls and don’t be such hypocrites. We all know that we do love seeing them show some skin once in a while, yeah? =) Here’s the picture:

I like the picture. It has some mysterious air in it plus the expressions of the boys were lovely. The black veil covering them had a nice effect on the picture. And if ever you’re wondering, YES THEY ARE TOPLESS UNDERNEATH THAT VEIL. Well, almost that is. They only have some accessories with them but basically they are shirtless. Junsu is actually wearing a vest but still, it was just a thin and open one. Hahaha. Here’s what lies beneath that veil.

O_O *grins sheepishly*

4.) 35 SECS. PREVIEW OF A SONG FROM THEIR 4TH KOREAN ALBUM. Click THIS to listen to it. I think the title of the song is Hey (Don’t Bring Me Down). I’m actually not sure if this is indeed one of the songs for their 4th Korean album since some are saying that this was a song that they were supposed to perform at one event in the past. Nevertheless, I think the song is ok. I’m not yet into it since it’s just a very short preview. I still can’t decide if I like it or not. But judging from how I love all of DBSK’s songs whether Korean or Japanese, I guess I’ll soon like this song once it comes out (and if it is really included in the album).

5.) 4TH KOREAN ALBUM RELEASE DATE IS SEPTEMBER 24, 2008. Uhm, so they moved it one day later? Because from what I remembered, it was supposed to be released on Spetember 23, 200.8 Hmmm… I guess there’s not much difference after all. I just hope they won’t delay its release any further because it would really kill the fans with anticipation.

6.) CLASH OF DBSK AND BIG BANG. Alright, this will be exciting. It’s the first time that the two boybands would go head to head. DBSK’s 4th Korean album will be released on September 24 which is also the target date for the release of Big Bang’s follow-up track to Haru-Haru or even possibly a whole album. We all know that Seungri of Big Bang is a big fan of DBSK’s Junsu and just recently, Taeyang said that they respect DBSK and that they are a fan of the latter. Well it’s good to hear that and I’m pretty sure both groups will surely say, if ever asked about this whole clash thing, that they are friends blah blah. But seriously, no matter how they deny it, there will be competition. Maybe its not an “open” competition but still they can’t deny it since both of them are popular in Korea and both of them will release something on the same date. I just hope the fans would just support their own groups and avoid any unnecessary things. Let’s just treat this as a friendly and healthy competition where the best of both groups would surely come out. =)

7.) DBSK’S 24TH JAPANESE SINGLE IS ENTITLED “(SPELL) MIROTIC”. A 4th Korean album AND another Japanese single? Wow. Guess they can’t totally stop their activities in Japan while in Korea, huh? I don’t know how they will promote this single WHILE promoting their 4th Korean album. Will they go back and forth between Korea and Japan again? Man, that would be tiring. I really hope they could concentrate JUST on promoting their comeback album because after all, this album is much awaited by their fans – both Korean Cassies and international fans. Anyway, about the title of the song… er, it’s kinda weird, isn’t it? I really don’t know the meaning of the word since it’s not in the dictionary. Many are guessing that it’s a combination of two words or maybe a shortcut for a long title. I really don’t know but it sure sounds funny and a bit awkward. Hahaha. Nevertheless, I’ll be waiting for this single together with their 4th Korean album. ;-)

Well, that’s all for now. I hope I was able to give a quick rundown of the recent updates about the Dong Bang boys. Feels so good to get in the flow of things again. :D
