Wow, Yunho is really such a gentleman and an optimistic person. He’s really very admirable. That’s our leader-sshi for you.
Yunho Wiped Ara’s Tears Away at the “Heading to the Ground” Farewell Party
Jung Yunho, Go Ara, Lee Sangyoon, Lee Yoonji and all staff members of MBC’s drama “Heading to the Ground” kept fighting until the end of the drama, and held a farewell party. “Heading to the Ground” has been tagged as a good sports-related drama series which is also fresh and warm. On the afternoon of the 5th of November, all crew members and actors held a farewell party and everyone said, “We did not worry much about the ratings; instead, we were happy during the whole filming period.” They watched the last episode together, with bittersweet feelings.
Jung Yunho (Cha Bonggun), Go Ara (Kang Haebin), Lee Sangyoon (Jang Seungwoo) and Lee Yoonji (Oh Yeonyi) took a photo with everyone, and at the same time, expressed their gratitude.
Yunho laughed and said, “That would probably be the most autographs I have signed, after my last screenshot.” While signing, he also gave everyone a CD as a gift of gratitude, which resulted in him being labeled as ‘The Gentleman Yunho.’
At the same time, Go Ara went around, showing her gratitude by giving everyone, who had treated her as family throughout the filming period, a hug and she cried uncontrollably because she could not bear to part with them. Yunho wiped Ara’s tears away and promised, “Each one of us will meet again in a better drama.”
Like the Cha Bonggun who went through all obstacles in life, the whole crew of “Heading to the Ground” did their very best from the start until the very last second, creating a warm and happy atmosphere.

U-Know Yunho’s Rediscovery through ‘HTTG’ – ‘His Passion For Challenges Shone Through’ November 8, 2009

I love this article! I definitely agree with the writer about Yunho as an actor. I really hope Yunho would realize despite the low ratings of HTTG, the viewers saw a different side of him – the actor Yunho who tries his hardest to improve on his acting. We saw how he improved in every episode and that’s good news for him. I hope this won’t be Yunho’s last drama. He shouldn’t be afraid to act just because of what happened to HTTG. Yunho, fighting!
U-Know Yunho’s Rediscovery through ‘HTTG’ – ‘His Passion For Challenges Shone Through’
Nowadays, the critiquing of dramas takes its basis from ratings. When the rating are high, a drama is seen as successful and good, while low ratings make a drama, as well as the actors, a failure. This is why the deciding factor of most of the media’s critiques of a successful actor and a failed actor depend on whether that actor was in a drama with high or low ratings.
U-Know Yunho of MBC’s ‘Heading to the Ground’, which ended on the 4th on a gloomy note with 16 episodes, received such appraisal as well. But U-Know Yunho was different. U-Know Yunho, who temporarily left his title as leader of idol group TVXQ that swept all of Asia of its feet to try his hand at acting, grew as an excellent actor despite the fact that his drama received low ratings. Instead of drawing the limit from failure, he worked harder to improve his acting skills.
U-Know Yunho was rediscovered through ‘Heading to the Ground’. During the drama, he showed the viewers who actor Jung Yunho, not singer TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho, was. According to those involved with the drama, U-Know Yunho matured and grew rapidly as an actor in ‘Heading to the Ground’ from episode 1 to 16. The insufficiency of episodes 1 and 2 were filled by episode 3 and 4 and he began to show a more mature acting through episodes 5 and 6 and began drawing the viewers’ attention.
The decision to partake in ‘Heading to the Gorund’ in itself was a great challenge to Jung Yunho. In the case of most rookie actors, they choose characters that will continue and better their popularity and image such as flower boys, business tycoons, charismatic guys, bad boys, or geniuses. But U-Know Yunho broke out of his image as an idol on stage and showed a quite different side of himself. He wanted to be reborn as an actor. To overcome the handicap of it being an idol star’s first acting attempt, he went head on with situations in the drama without the use of a stunt double and won.
His character Cha Bong Goon was more memorable because he was not a cool character, but one who seemed to be lacking in some way. He showed everything from bizarre facial expressions to comical dancing. Although the charisma of TVXQ he had built up since his debut had disappeared, he was able to show everyone the birth of Actor Jung Yunho.
TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho, who now has five years of a singing career under his belt, has evolved into a talented singer but has just begun to mature as Actor Jung Yunho. His youth and passion for challenges are beautiful, there are hopes to see what else Actor Jung Yunho has to offer in dramas and in movies.

From 20 episodes, it was cut to 18 and now they’re cutting it even shorter to 16 episodes. Seriously, how will they end this drama?
“Heading To The Ground” to be Early Cut After 16th Episode, Flooding Criticisms from Viewers
MBC drama “Heading To The Ground” will call its early ending after the 16th episode airing this November 4th. The drama was previously planned to have 20 episodes, however due to the poor rating record, finally its episodes are cut and will finally have an early ending.
“Heading To The Ground” crew on the 29th after the broadcast of the 15th episode said, “The final episode will be aired next Wednesday,” announced such caption informing the viewers.
The drama ending episode is too early even than the previously expected, caused many disappointment from the viewers.
Earlier before, on last November 14th, “Heading To The Ground” crew confirmed, “The final is planned to happen after 18th episode.” Therefore, “Heading To The Ground”’s successor “Heroes” would kick off its first broadcast on November 11th, a week earlier that it’s previously scheduled.
Nevertheless, after the episodes were cut by 2, it went another further drop to only 16 episodes which is shorter than it’s first announced, gathering strong complains from the viewers.
After the announcement of “Heading To The Ground” early final, the drama message boards was flooded with many dissatisfaction messages from netizens. “20 episodes were cut to 18, and now to 16… it’s really too much. Next time I won’t watch drama which has low TV rating anymore.” “With the unfinished problems being left in the drama, I really don’t know how they’re going to solve it. This sudden reduction will leave the storyline development being absurd.” “If the rating is good, the episodes are extended, when the rating is bad, they’re cut. The viewers seem to have no rights at all.”
Meanwhile, “Heading To The Ground” is starring popular idol group TVXQ’s Yunho who is starting his acting career for the first time. Modern actors Ara, Lee Yoonji, and Lee Sang Yoon have been co-starring with Yunho in the production and received lots of anticipation. However the series has been receiving much criticism of acting skills, uncreative story development, etc and been ignored by netizens.
Especially since the recent drama “Iris” starring Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Hee has been broadcasted, it has recorded a shabby viewing rate of 3~4% and received an insulting review such as “The Viewing Rate is Heading to the Ground”.

I have to admit that the editing is bad and the story, probably for Koreans and people who aren’t into sports, is a bit “ordinary” but I’d have to say that the acting of the cast members isn’t bad. Yes, Yunho’s acting isn’t perfect but for a starter, I thought he did a decent job at it. Ara and the others’ acting was ok, too. I guess the storyline just didn’t appeal to most of the viewers. I just hope Yunho won’t take this too seriously and treat this as a learning experience to be even better in the future.

Awww… Yunho! Fighting!
091020 TVXQ’s Yunho, “Lonely.”
TVXQ’s Yunho (real name Jung Yunho) is currently acting in MBC’s drama “Heading to the Ground”. He shared his thoughts on being away from the group and entering the acting career.
Yunho said this in response to an interview he did with fashion magazine “W”, for their November issue, where he also did a gravure photoshoot. Yunho said, “It’s difficult since its a heavy role, but I’m putting a lot of effort into acting”, and showed the spirit of acting.
Coming from his background as a singer, when asked on how he felt about debuting alone as a new actor, Yunho answered, “Lonely. But I think this is just the process of growing pains. I have to grow.”
Officials from “W” magazine informed that, “Although it was very difficult to do the gravure photoshoot and interview after his drama filming and rehearsals for their Shanghai concert, he was bright and full of energy on the set.”

Yunho seriously needs to get some rest. His late drama filming and everything that’s happening now seems to have put too much stress on him. Since Heading to the Ground will soon end, I hope he’ll get enough rest. We don’t want to see his health in a bad state again. =(
091015 Jung Yunho – Filming Stops Due To Facial Muscles Contracting
It has been belatedly revealed that actor Jung Yunho fainted during a shooting.
On the 12th, Jung Yunho’s facial muscles contracted during the shooting and he was rushed to the hospital.
On the 15th, one official from ‘Heading To The Ground’ told Money Today Star News that, “As we approached the 70% mark of the drama’s filming, it became apparent that stamina plays a big part.”
The official also said that Jung Yunho, despite being told to rest up after treatment at the hospital, returned to shooting the drama on the 13th. The official went on to say that on top of the weeks of all-night shootings and the stress of the lead role, the controversy of his acting and the mental stress weighed down on Jung Yunho’s state/condition.
On the other hand, BongGoon (Jung Yunho) and SeungWoo’s (Lee SangYoon) conflict in ‘Heading To The Ground’ is making things interesting.

This is Yunho’s interview on Bigeast Magazine Vol. 14. It’s the usual “where do you want to go and why” type of interview but what caught my attention is one of Yunho’s answers (the one in bold and in RED) where he said something really sweet. I definitely agree with this statement!
Bigeast Magazine Volume 14 – Yunho’s “I LOVE TO TRAVEL”
SPECIAL ISSUE FROM THE MEMBERS
THIRD ISSUE: YUNHO’S “I LOVE TO TRAVEL”
“Where Yunho wants to go”
In Bigeast Vol. 9, we introduced Yunho’s favorite places, selected from the fans’ recommendation list. This time, Yunho enthusiastically speaks of the places he wants to go!
Staff: Can you please tell us where you want to go now?
Yunho: YES! I have two places, is it okay?
S: Of course, so first..
YH: LAS VEGAS!!!!!
S: You’ve been answering Las Vegas in many magazines. Have you ever been there before?
YH: Yes, I think it was in May 2008. All five members went there to shoot a Korean photobook! I was so impressed by the beautiful night view, and was really fascinated by the entertainment atmosphere of the whole town.
S: Las Vegas is famous for its shows. Did you have time to go to the shows?
YH: Yes, we had time, so we saw the shows of “Cirque du Soleil,” “O,” and “KA”! That was surprising!
S: Yes, we know. “O” and “KA” are very popular shows in Las Vegas.
YH: Yes. We have performed on stage many times as Tohoshinki, but we don’t have many chances to be on the audience side. It was totally fresh and new. After the show, we had a new dream, “Oh! We want to show these kinds of performances one day!” For me, the most impressive part of Las Vegas were these two shows, “O” and “Ka”!!
S: Oh, you are truly the leader of Tohoshinki. You are always thinking about Tohoshinki!
YH: Of course!!
S: Well, Las Vegas is famous for its shows, but it is also famous for casinos, too. Did you go to the casino?
YH: …Yes (grins)
S: That face… So you won??
YH: Yes, I won! I only did the slot machine, and I started with only 1 cent, but in the end, it became $500!!!
S: WOW! But Yunho… starting with 1 cent… (Lol)
YH: Yes… I regretted that… I should have started with 1. When I turn the slot, it always matched. (Lol) It was so surprising, but I was very happy.
S: You have a happy memory of the place, so I think you want to go back one day?
YH: Yes. If there was a multi-dimensional door, I would first go to Las Vegas. (Lol)
S: So, one was Las Vegas. Where is the other place you want to go now?
YH: The Grand Canyon. We also went there to shoot pictures for a Korean photobook.
S: Did you climb to the very top?
YH: Of course! I did some rock climbing, too!! Cactus was growing on the rocks, and it was a bit painful… (wry smile)
S: Oh… (Lol)… Did you put on the lifelines?
YH: No, I didn’t. The height was only 3m, so we were told that there were no lifelines… So we put in high spirits, “The shooting involves a grave risk!” and faced the shooting. (Lol)
S: That’s just like you, Yunho! (Lol)
YH: Yes! Thank you!
S: Changing the subject, why do you want to go to the Grand Canyon again?
YH: When I climbed to the very top of the Grand Canyon, I thought that “I might never be able to come here again…” Then, I was truly touched by… It gave me power.
S: What kind of power?
YH: I thought that I should do my best for everyone, keeping the impressive feeling I felt at the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon gave me power to help everyone!
S: You are already making many people happy and also helping them out. Is it your target to go furthermore!!?
YH: It is not enough, now~! My dream is volunteering!!
S: You are really fantastic~~ So for the last, please tell me where you want to go, a place you’ve never been to!
YH: An uninhabited island. (Immediate reply)
S: …What? An uninhabited island??! Why??
YH: I think that life is an uninhabited island.
S: What? Please explain.
YH: During your lifetime, you will have troubles and come upon big hurdles. When you are in an uninhabited island, there should be many hurdles, so I thought it would be the same.
S: Oh, I see. So are you going to the island alone?
YH: NO! We five will go together, then we can realize that what one couldn’t do alone could be achieved by all five members. I feel that we can get power to overcome big hurdles.
S: But, going to an uninhabited island will be hard for you~
YH: Umm, my wish is to stay overnight.
S: …Really? That’s too short!! Staying overnight! (Lol)
YH: Then… A 3-day trip!! (Lol)‘Source: Bigeast Magazine Volume 14
