Out of all the many artists that the viewers and netizens have suggested in the Ellen DeGeneres Show webpage, our dear DBSK were recorded as the artist that was suggested the most. This is all of course, thanks to all the efforts of all of us DBSK fans in sharing our stories and reasons as to why we love DBSK. :)

Please be reminded that even though they’ve got the most suggestions, DBSK is NOT confirmed to appear on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.  They MAY appear but as of the last statement from SM, they haven’t received any invitation to appear on the said American talk show yet. We’ll just have to wait what happens in the coming days. For now, let’s be happy that somehow, we managed to get the attention of Ellen DeGeneres and her staff and introduce to DBSK to them.

TVXQ Chosen By Viewers Of American Talk Show ‘Ellen Degeneres Show’ As A Rising Star

TVXQ has been chosen by viewers of a famous American talk show as ‘the foreign artiste who should be introduced to Ellen’.

In the ‘Send Ellen Your International Music Suggestions!’ event that began on NBC’s ‘Ellen Degeners Show’ homepage in January, TVXQ received over 20,000 suggestions and was recorded as the artiste most suggested by netizens. This was achieved by a collaborative effort of fans in Korea as well as in Asia.

Many of the suggestions included the popularity of TVXQ/Tohoshinki in Japan and in Asia in general. This seems to be the work of fans across Asia coming together for a common cause.

With TVXQ being chosen as the singer with the most suggestions, many wonder if TVXQ will appear on the ‘Ellen Degeneres Show’. The ‘Ellen Degeneres Show’ is a representative talk show in America alongside ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ and is popular with around 10 million households tuning in. Even just appearing on the show will be a strong foundation for an entry into the American music market for TVXQ. The Ellen Degeneres Show homepage did state that the singer with the most suggestions may be asked to appear on the show.

Regarding this, TVXQ’s agency SM Entertainment stated, “We did hear about this but we have not yet received an official invitation.” He also continued to say, “Currently, TVXQ is split between U-Know Yunho-Choikang Changmin, and Xiah Junsu-YoungWoong Jaejoong-Micky Yoochun. At the current situation, it would not be easy for the five members to appear on the show together.” Currently, TVXQ is performing only in important events in Japan.

P.S. I hate SM so much! Why must they make a statement about the members being divided? If it weren’t for that damn company, the boys won’t even have to split! They were doing fine even when this whole lawsuit started until SM came between them and found a way to split them into two groups. Yes, although no one has confirmed this, I STRONGLY believe SM did something to make the divide the boys into 3:2 right now. But I also believe that our dear boys can surpass this because their 6 years of friendship will not be ruined just like that by a hateful company like SM.

Ok, as promised here is a much clearer translation of the records that the boys broke with their single “Break Out!”.

Again, congratulations to DBSK and the fans for another job well done! :D

Tohoshinki Breaks Record – First Foreign Artist In 12 Years To Sell Over 200K In Singles For Initial Sales

Date: 02 February 2010

Time: 04:00

■First to break Elton John’s record in 12 years and 4 months

Korean 5-member group Tohoshinki have made the record as the highest selling artist for foreign artists in the initial sales for singles category. Their 29th single 「BREAK OUT!」was released on 27 January and became first on the 8 February Oricon Singles Ranking Chart.

For the initial sales record for foreign artists, up until now, it had been held by Elton John’s “Memorial Song for the former British Princess Diana”, 「Candle In The Wind〜Tribute To Princess Diana, Britain’s Princess」(released September 1997), which sold 184,000 copies. In this area, Tohoshinki broke this record which lasted for 12 years and 4 months, by selling 254,000 copies of their single, becoming the first foreign artist in history to pass the 200,000 mark in initial sales.

In addition to becoming first place for foreign artists in initial sales, this will also be Tohoshinki’s 7th work to add on to their list of achievements for getting a #1 single, making this a double achievement for them.

Their first single in 2010 is also the theme song for NHK Drama 8’s 『とめはねっ!鈴里高校書道部』. The B-side to this song is the solo number 「XIAHTIC」which was written, composed and arranged by Junsu.

Yaaaaaaayyyyyyy!!!! A BIG, BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO DBSK FOR MAKING IT TO THE TOP OF ORICON WEEKLY ONCE MORE!!!:D

I know the translation below is kinda confusing but let me summarize it (well, based on my own understanding):

1. DBSK’s sales for the single “Break Out!” is the highest (Oricon Chart) weekly sales for a FOREIGN ARTIST in the history of  Japan.

2. DBSK broke their personal record as the FOREIGN ARTIST in the history of Japan to get the most number of Oricon Daily Chart #1 for 7 times.

Again, that’s how I understood the article. I’m pretty sure of the first one but I don’t know if I got the second one right. Once a clearer translation is out, I’ll post it again. ;)

And oh, just to remind you, the figure “256,000 units” isn’t final yet. Let’s wait for the final figure from Oricon’s website, alright? But I bet it’s around that number.

Well, I do understand TaeGoon for asking people to stop people from asking him about JaeJoong. Although having a famous friend like JaeJoong has its perks, it also has some unpleasant effects. It’s really unfair for people to accuse TaeGoon of using JaeJoong to gain recognition. What he has with JaeJoong is a close and true friendship and people should stop giving a different meaning to it. Besides, I believe that TaeGoon is a talented singer and is working hard to have a successful career. With or without the help of JaeJoong or any of his other celebrity friends, he can have a successful career as long as he persevere because he has the talent to make it on top.

I really hope people will start looking at him as “TaeGoon” and not as “TaeGoon, Kim JaeJoong’s friend”. Let him have his own identity – one that is not associated with JaeJoong. I wish him all the best  and I hope this won’t ruin his beautiful friendship with Jae.

Taegoon doesn’t want to be asked about JaeJoong anymore

Singer Taegoon, who is known to be close friends with Hero Jaejoong of Dong Bang Shin Ki, said during an episode of ‘My Name Is Taegoon’ that he does not want interviewers to ask him questions about Jaejoong.

Taegoon said “There’s a lot of people who thought poorly of me, they said I blackmail my friends and take advantage of TVXQ, there’s many people saying that.”

He continued, “I often talked about it with JaeJoong, but I don’t like people to look at me like that. There were many people who regarded us as good friends, but a lot also said I took advantage of it. We were very hurt. I didn’t talk about JaeJoong for a while. I request for them not to ask but they still do and write about it.”

Although they continually ask him about it, he says “It’s a challenge, I don’t want to give trouble to my friends. I don’t like bothering him.”

I’ve always said how the DBSK boys inspire and motivate people in so many ways. I, for one, was inspired to live a more meaningful life and changed into a better person ever since I came to know about them two years ago. Not only are they inspiring “ordinary” people like us, but they also become inspirations and role models to other artists and budding artists as well.

The article below is about Gag Concert star Oh Nami’s inspiration in pursuing her dream of becoming a celebrity. DBSK member Kim “Youngwoong” JaeJoong’s perseverance in making his dream come true and succeeding in it was what inspired and pushed Oh Nami into pursuing her dream. At present, she is one of the rising celebrity comedian in Korea and has also garnered attention for her talent.

Gag Concert’s Rising Star Oh Nami Says “YoungWoong Jaejoong Is My Idol”

Gag Concert’s new star Oh Nami has revealed her unique relationship with TVXQ’s YoungWoong Jaejoong.

Through an interview with Sports Donga, Oh Nami revealed that her hometown was Gongju, Chung Cheong Province, and introduced YoungWoong Jaejoong as a ‘hometown friend’.

“Because Gongju is such a small place, kids with talent became popular very quickly. Although YoungWoong Jaejoong is younger than me, we went to the same supplementary academy.” Oh Nami, who was a track athlete until high school, said that YoungWoong Jaejoong played a large role in making her pursue her dream of becoming a comedian.

“As I was living in a rural town, I just wandered because I didn’t know how to become a celebrity. But then I heard that YoungWoong Jaejoong became a trainee at SM Entertainment and I gained the courage to pursue my dream from that fact,” said Oh Nami. She also added that, “I saw YoungWoong Jaejoong never give up his dream of being a singer and then finally achieve it, so I decided to pursue my own dream no matter what came in my way.”

Even though six years have passed, Oh Nami still remembers the name and newspaper that printed the first article about YoungWoong Jaejoong which showed that her memories of the idol member are quite special to her.

After graduating from university, Oh Nami went on to a graduate school in Seoul and debuted as part of KBS’ 23rd Comedian group in 2008. She is currently gaining popularity in KBS 2TV’s ‘Gag Concert’ corner ‘Solo Heaven, Couple Hell’. Last year, she received the Rookie Award at the KBS Entertainment Awards and proved her skills as a successful comedian.

Stories like these are really fun and touching to read. It makes me even more proud of our boys every time I hear that they are part of other people’s  success. I hope they’ll continue to be role models, inspirations, motivators and instruments to make other people’s lives become better. :)

Another article about DBSK’s popularity and success in Japan. I hope you guys don’t get tired with this kind of articles because I don’t. I’m actually proud that’s why I always post them for all the fans to read. :)

Tohoshinki, Japanese Activities Surpassing Expectations!

Tohoshinki’s popularity in Japan is still as explosive as ever.

The March edition of women’s magazine <JJ>, which TVXQ posed as the cover models for, was completely sold out on the 23rd, only two days after its release.

TVXQ is the first male group to grace the cover of <JJ> ever since its first release 35 years ago.

A <JJ> representative said, “Last March, we had a TVXQ special in the magazine for three months and the response we received from it was explosive. Taking into consideration that the theme for the covers is ‘Surprise’, we decided to give TVXQ fans a special surprise. Therefore, we began continually asking TVXQ’s side for a confirmation to our proposal since last summer and we finally succeeded in getting it.”

The photoshoot and interview took place in December, and even though TVXQ was busy with their scheduled appearances in NHK’s Kouhaku Uta Gassen and the Japanese Record Awards, the members took an active approach during the photoshoot and kept the atmosphere bright and cheerful the entire time.

The TVXQ special named ‘Valentine Day Special’ is eight pages long with pictures as well as a ‘100 Q&A’ from each of the members that reveals information about their private lives. The edition also contains photos signed by the members as a present to the readers.

The March edition <JJ> magazine that was sold out in two days is currently reaching prices as high as 5000 Yen (55 USD) on Auction, which is significantly larger than the original price of 650 Yen (7 USD). In numerous fansites, many fans who could not buy the magazine can be seen saying things like, ‘I want to buy it, but no store has it,’ ‘I can get a taste of TVXQ’s popularity in Japan through this. I knew that buying concert tickets was hard, but I didn’t expect to find buying a magazine so difficult.’

<JJ> stated on the 25th that they decided to reprint the March edition and will begin distributing them to stores around the nation on the 29th.

Tohoshinki, succeeds with CDs as well as magazines

TVXQ also celebrated another title as Number One on the Oricon Single Chart with their new single <Break Out!> that was released on the 27th.

The 29th single <Break Out!> is not only the title song for NHK drama <Domehane!> (every Thursday at 8pm) that began on January 7th, it also sold 169,842 copies on the first day and demonstrated a clear margin between it and the second place single by Japanese rock group L’Arc-en-Ciel that sold 33,051 copies.

On the 22nd of January, <Break Out!> was labeled as the ‘most anticipated new single album’ on Oricon’s survey before its release.

TVXQ is awaiting the release of their first best album <BEST SELECTION 2010> on February 17th and many are interested to see whether TVXQ will be able to carry their ’sold out streak.’

Korean fans already held an event to celebrate Yunho’s birthday as early as January 31st. Just like with every members’ birthday celebrations, the event was attended by so many fans and a couple of the people close to the celebrant were invited to the event. For Yunho, some of his family members as well as some of his friends were there and they shared some interesting information and stories about him. The fans were also rewarded with a short phone conversation with Yunho, who was in Japan when the event was held.

2010 Wish Flowerage Yoonho 25th Birthday

On January 31st, at 2:06PM, Yunho’s 25th birthday part began. Me and Yoxin arrived around 1:00PM. After we got off the public transit, we still couldn’t find the school entrance. It was until we saw on a big poster of Yunho’s face that was right a cross the street= = We rushed over, and took a bunch of pictures.

When we went in, they were showing clips of an interview with Yunho’s teacher on the big screen. Because there were still a lot of people rushing in, the event really started at 2:10. Because my Korean is still at a beginner’s level, I couldn’t understand a lot= = I will work on this……

At first, Yunho’s 3 friends were introduced along with his brother and parents. One of the friends was the one Yunho had introduced in a show. Then they brought out a birthday cake, and everyone there sang happy birthday. The host especially asked for everyone to sing “Dear yoonho oppa” together.

Then they asked a couple of questions, most of it is about some interesting things that happened to Yunho. (PS: forgive my poor Korean and memory)

1)Filming
Yunho’s friends revealed that Yunho loves watching movies, so the host asked what kind of movie does Yunho like to watch, his friends says…… There weren’t many movies Yunho finished watching. Because Yunho would fall asleep watching them. Everyone at the event laughed. The friend started imitating how Yunho falls asleep, with a hand under his chin for support, then head drooping slowly, then pretends like nothing happened and sits up, while looking around, then the process begins all over again…… haha

2) 85club
They talked about how 85club was formed, after that about what they would do, and where they would go to have fun.

3) Heading to the Ground kissing scenes
One of the friends said, they didn’t even have to call Yunho to ask him how is the filming going, because almost every day around 10:00-11:00, around the time when the broadcast ends, they would receive a call from Yunho, asking if they watched today’s broadcast and such, as if asking for their opinion. Yunho’s friends said he really worked hard to film this drama. Abought the kiss scene, I couldn’t understand, his 2 friends talk so fast TT

4) Coffee house
Yunho’s friend said Yunho really likes to go to coffeehouses, sometimes they would go after watching a movie= = So the host asked what Yunho would usually order. His friend said Yunho would usually eat ice and chocolate= =and some kind of dessert, sorry I couldn’t hear clearly.

5) When the first part of the event was half way through, one of Yunho’s friends asked if he should cal Yunho. After a bunch of fan screams, the friend took out his cellphone and called Yunho. When Yunho answered, fans began screaming again. Yunho said he is in japan right now. After thanking everyone, all the fans sang happy birthday to him, including “dear yoonho oppa.” Yunho laughed his trademark, and everyone at the event laughed with him. The host then asked a couple of questions, but my Korean isn’t that good= = and I couldn’t hear very well, with the phone held up to the microphone.

Because Yunho said he is still in Japan, and seemed like he still had activities waiting for him, so he didn’t stay on the phone for too long, about 5-10 minutes. Because of everyone’s request, he sang to us. When his friends asked him to sing a few lines, he sounded like he was thinking, so everyone heard a long “Um~~~~~”, then his friend thought he was ready, so started counting : 1, 2, … he wasn’t even finished when we heard worried scream from the other end: chaganma chaganma (wait, wait) ~~ haha, we almost laughed to death. In the end he sang a few lines, it sounds familiar, but I couldn’t tell which song…… At the end of the phone call, he thanked everyone again, saying he will continue working hard. His friend lied to him that there were 30,000 fans at this event, he said it about 3 times= = Yunho laughed, the fans at the event screamed loudly to give the affect of 30,000 fans present, everyone was in a good mood.

When the first part ended, his 3 friends and family left, then there were 5 minute break, and 2nd part began, Welcome to the yoonho’s world. The big screen was brought down, and the video began playing.

The video is really well done. There were many parts to it. First is some funny clips of Yunho in Heading to the Ground, the part where he couldn’t communicate in English, and the scene where he was so excited on the bus that he kicked the seat in front of him. 2nd part is natural beauty, airport videos from a long time ago until now. Can’t remember the order of what happened…… then it was so hot, it was very sexy……. everyone screamed. there’s a so cute part, dancing part, yoonhoVS UKNOW, and O, Purple Line, Mirotic, Hey! a couple of these songs combined together…… everything was done super well. There were times where it showed clips of them ing together…… the atmosphere was great. The video was very long, every part was amazing. I regret not recording it.

Oh yes, there were a couple of clips of from their concerts in China, where Yunho screamed in Chinese, everyone laughed. The korean fan next to me asked: Chinese right? haha.

In the end there was Checkmate…… everyone was scream…… my poor ear drums= = there was aslo a very touching clip, watching the the five of them walking the hard road to get to where they are today……. I almost cried.

The third part is also video clip, the main point of it was Heading to the Ground. They were interviews of the co-stars, 2 of them even send in a video clip wishing Yunho happy birhtday.

In the end

Dad had a long letter. I forgot but Don’t Cry My Lover or Don’t Say Goodbye was the background music of a part of the video, there were a lot of touching words……

I could only remember just about this much, there were a lot of fans, all the seats were filled. There were a lot of older fans= = Yunho really has fans of all ages! Last word, Yunho, Happy birhday~~

I think these kinds of events are really fun. I hope one day, I could attend such events, too. I want to  experience celebrating special occasions in the life of the members together with fellow fans. :)
